Preserving the Spirit Behind the Stories: A leafchat with the Founders of LifeBook Memoirs

Our recent "Leafchat" brought together two extraordinary visionaries who are redefining how we preserve human history: Yvette Conn and Roy Moëd. As the co-founders of LifeBook Memoirs, they have dedicated themselves to a mission that transcends mere record-keeping—capturing the "meaning" that numbers and balance sheets often leave behind.

In our discussion, Roy and Yvette shared insights into the power of storytelling as a bridge between generations. While Roy spoke of his vision to help 20,000 families worldwide preserve their legacies, Yvette highlighted the emotional intelligence required to turn a set of facts into a living narrative that reflects the true spirit of the author.

Meet the Founders

Roy Moëd: Serial Entrepreneur and VisionaryRoy Moëd’s entrepreneurial spirit was sparked in 1978 when he founded Pourshins Limited with just £4,800. Over the decades, he transformed it from a small startup into a global enterprise with over 600 employees before successfully pivoting it into a lean, virtual logistics provider and selling it in 2007. In 2010, Roy co-founded LifeBook Memoirs, combining his business acumen with a passion for helping families protect their history. Beyond business, he is a dedicated philanthropist, having supported efforts ranging from London’s homeless to refugee relocation at the Polish-Ukrainian border. An active YPO member for over 30 years, Roy continues to champion communities focused on the well-being of aging parents.

Yvette Conn: Financial Trailblazer and Narrative GuardianYvette Conn began her career in the male-dominated world of the City of London, where her Economics degree from the University of Bath propelled her to become one of the first female partners at Laurie Milbank and Investec. After two decades in finance, she realized that while numbers measure wealth, they often fail to capture the values and sacrifices that built it. This realization led her to co-found LifeBook Memoirs in 2011. Today, Yvette leads the company’s prestigious OPUS Division, where she applies her unique blend of financial rigour and emotional intelligence to help high-profile families and founders create private archives of memory that serve as a "cultural compass" for future generations.
